TIRANA, Albania — The Cliff Keen Wrestling Club’s Real Woods and Will Lewan captured bronze medals and 65kg and 70kg, respectively, at the Muhament Malo tournament on Wednesday (Feb. 26) at the Feti Borova Venue.

Woods posted a 4-1 record en route to his second senior-level medal in his CKWC competitive debut. He earned a 9-1 victory over Japan’s Kajii Ogino in his bronze-medal match, scoring on an early head pinch and shot-clock point in the first period then pulling away with three takedowns in the second.

Woods opened the tournament with three straight techs, outscoring his first three opponents by a 31-1 margin before falling to Iran’s Rahman Amouzadkhalilli– a 2022 world champion and Paris Olympics silver medalist — 11-2 in the semifinals. He scored on an early head pinch and lead 2-2 into the second period before Amouzad, who went on to claim gold, surged with four stepouts and two takedowns.

Lewan went 3-1 at 70kg to secure his second senior-level tournament medal abroad this year, adding to his gold at the Dan Kolov-Nikola Petrov International in Bulgaria a little more than a month ago. Lewan earned a 4-3 win over USA’s James Green, a two-time world medalist and the reigning 70kg world team member, in the bronze-medal match. Pushing the pace late, Lewan scored a stepout and added a caution-and-one point for fleeing with just :05 left to secure the lead on criteria. He tacked on another after an unsuccessful challenge from Green’s corner.

Lewan’s only loss came in the quarterfinals to eventual champion, Japan’s Yoshinosuke Aoyagi, who then pulled Lewan back with in semifinal win over Green.

The CKWC has already earned seven total international medals in 2025 — three at the Dan Kolov event and two apiece at the first two UWW Ranking Series events.
