A new book on legendary Michigan coach Cliff Keen is scheduled to be published in late September 2013. The book, written by Dave Taylor, provides a biographical look at the life and career of Coach Keen and summarizes 91 seasons of Michigan wrestling.
The book also frames amateur wrestling history from a Michigan point of view. Among the book’s several features are pieces on Michigan wrestling recruiting pipelines, unique individuals and wrestling families as well as the History of FILA and International Wrestling, the History of Marketing, Media and the Promotion of Wrestling and an objective look at the History of Title IX and its Effect on Wrestling.
It has 23 appendix items, is 628 pages and retails for $39.95.
The book is available for pre-order on the Cliff Keen Athletic website and will also be available at seven different M-Den stores in early October. Author Dave Taylor and Jim Keen, son of Cliff Keen, will participate in a book signing at the State Street M-Den location on October 3 from 3-5 p.m.
